Podcasts

There are an amazing number of information sources available to Master Naturalists (and everyone else, of course). Here is a sampling including some audio and video courses that can be downloaded to your mp3 player. Please note that the PODcasts and Lectures are NOT approved for Advanced Training Credit. Clicking on a link should take you to a site with more information on the resource. You may wish to find a textbook for the subject (not necessarily the one being used by the lecturer) to help with visualization.

Please send information about your favorite sources to the webmaster and they will be included for others on these pages. If you need help with the MP3 or PODcast materials contact the webmaster.

UC Berkley Course Webcasts (this link is to the spring 2007 page; however, there is a drop-down list at the top right that lets you look at other semesters.

This is a link to the UC Berkley webcast Site. There are podcasts and streaming webcasts available. Some of particular interest to VMN folks. Some lectures are missing and not all are available in every format.

Wildlife Ecology ESPM-114 (spring 2007) Excellent. Some missing lectures, some bad recordings, but worth listening.
Animal Behavior IB-32 (spring 2006)
General Biology Bio 1B (spring 2006) A concepts course. Should actually be done prior to Bio 1A.
Molecular & Cell Biology 1A (spring 2007, you need a bunch of chemistry for this.) Much more technical. Be prepared to work at this one.
Introduction to Chemistry (spring 2007, not for the faint of heart.) Also quite technical
UCLA Course Webcasting. Many courses here are locked, but you may find interesting things

Introduction to Oceanography (winter 2006) Excellent course. A very good backgrounder on things like Plate Tectonics. Focused more on California but pretty general.
MIT OpenCourseWare Many courses here. Some have audio feeds and other materials.

Brain Structure and its Origins (Spring 2005) Downloaded but haven't listened to yet.
